Oh those beautiful eyes!!!! Dakota has those piercing crystal blue eyes that look right through you. Her independent, high energy spirit is evident in her alert behavior on walks. She investigates everything that moves and puts her nose in holes in the ground all the way up to her eyes.
Dakota is confident and strong in behavior and appearance just like her Shepherd heritage. The Husky part of her is very intelligent and trainable, but she also displays a mind of her own. She never misses what goes on around her and possess great endurance, but also a gentle and playful spirit. Her owner will need to be the pack leader and set firm boundaries and limitations or she will dominate.
Dakota comes from a strong, athletic breed background which requires exercise through daily walks or time in a large, fenced yard where she can run and play. Her beautiful coat will shed and she will require moderate, weekly brushing.
Dakota will be friendly with other dogs if properly introduced, but will probably not do well with cats. The ideal home for Dakota would be with an experienced, active owner who can set clear guidelines for behavior and provide plenty of activity, play and training. Dakota will be good with children nine and older who are respectful of pets.
