Volunteering How to participate
in the work at Living Free
Volunteers are a major asset
to the care and well being of our cat and dog rescues. Consider joining our Volunteer Program and begin making a difference in the lives of the animals at Living Free. Our cats and dogs need the socialization and lots of one-on-one attention while they are here with us until a forever home is found. The more volunteers we have in our Volunteer Program, the more cats and dogs we’re able to rescue. That’s where your volunteer hours make a big difference in saving one precious life at a time
All individuals 18 years of age and older are eligible to enroll in the Volunteer Program at Living Free. Minors ages 16 and 17 may volunteer without parental supervision with a signed permission form from a parent or legal guardian. Those under 16 may only volunteer with a pre-approved supervising adult volunteer present. All volunteers are required to attend one of our monthly volunteer orientation/training sessions and complete the Volunteer Agreement and Liability Release before starting volunteer duties. Orientation/Training sessions are scheduled for the 1st Saturday of each month. Additional dates may be added to accommodate influxes in volunteer applications. Check with our office for available dates.
You may download a Volunteer Application from this page and submit it to our shelter at any time. Our volunteer needs range from office work, professional services, events and promotion, to hands-on animal care and socialization, both in the shelter and in foster homes. Specific training and instruction will be provided as needed for all volunteer tasks.
Thank you so much for considering the volunteering of your skills, talents, and time. We couldn’t do it without you!
