We are located in the pristine San Jacinto mountains above the desert floor, near Idyllwild. We provide spacious yards and walking trails for the dogs, and playrooms filled with climbers, toys and beds for the comfort of the cats. There are no cages.

Living Free is not able to accept animals from the public. We can assist you by providing referrals. For placement assistance call (951) 659-4684 and provide us with your email or mailing address so that we may send a referral list out to you. Please note there are many resources on this list and we are unable to dictate it to callers over the phone, but are happy to mail or email it to you.

What happens if a cat or dog is dropped off at Living Free's gate?
If a cat or dog is dropped off at our sanctuary, we are required to call Animal Control. By law, animals must be placed in the custody of Animal Control to be reunited with their owners. Under penal code 597s, it is unlawful to abandon an animal, and doing so will subject them to attacks by predatory wildlife.
