About the event
On September 23, 2025, Living Free Animal Sanctuary welcomes Michelle Berling, founder of Trail Rides Across America, for a trail ride through our sanctuary in support of raising awareness of PTSD and the life-changing role of equine therapy.
Michelle, a retired firefighter, paramedic, police officer, and SWAT negotiator, is traveling the country with her service dog Ryker, her rescued Mustang cross Mad Jack, and her donkey Nelson. Along the way, she is visiting equine therapy programs nationwide to fundraise and shine a spotlight on the healing power of the horse–human connection.
Together, we’ll ride in solidarity with veterans and celebrate the mission of War Horse Creek, Living Free’s equine therapy program where rescued mustangs and veterans build trust, resilience, and strength in one another.
