After graduating from college in Alabama, Sammy moved to Washington, DC, where he worked as the National Activist Coordinator for PETA, organizing animal rights demonstrations across the country and teaching Animal Rights-101 classes. After moving to California, he volunteered at North Central Animal Shelter and Sante D'Or. Since moving to Idyllwild 10 years ago, Sammy has worked with Living Free and ARF to rescue and sterilize hundreds of animals. Before becoming Living Free’s Executive Director, he served on the Board and volunteered in the cattery. Even today, you can still find Sammy scooping litter boxes on weekend mornings!
